A Conversation with Avery about Travel

Avery: "How long will it take us to get to Hidaho?"

Me: "Well, if we were going, it would take..."

Avery: "Mom, I know we aren't going. But if we did go, how many years would it take to get there?"

Me: "It wouldn't take years, just a few days if we drove. It would only take about a half of a day to get there if we flew in an airplane."
Avery: "So, if we went to Hidaho today, I would still be 4 when we got there?"

Me: "Yes. You would still be 4 even if we drove there."

Avery: "How long is a half of a day."

Me: "It would be from when you woke up in the morning until after lunch."

Avery: "THAT is a long time."

Me: "It's not as long as driving though. That would take three days. Three days would mean you would take three naps, sleep for two nights, and eat three breakfasts."

Avery: "THAT IS FOREVER! I would be 5 when we got to Hidaho."

Me: "Yeah, you probably would be."
